Conversations with Time

"When time is overthrown, the dusty colored chalk of past and future will no longer be graffiti'd on the pure white communication of a life's times, which always and can only happen now, in the blink of an eye."

I enjoyed The Secret. It's a great "rapid fire" in the style of the day, but I also recognized most of what had been said from numerous sources, mostly ancient and since.

Regarding the topic I have a feel for what the secret-tellers are getting at. I have been "getting at" the idea of the creative power of Attraction - the "law" if you will - in this way lately: Believin' It = Be Livin' It.

(By the way, Grasping At Laws is the name of my band because I think laws are overrated, and our infantile grasping at and clinging to them to make sense of life just makes it a mess. But it provides some very funny people, in a pathetic funny sort of way.)

The realization of how true my equation is in every now moment has a spooky quality to it, at least for a flash. In the truest sense of the idea there can be no time lag between believing something about your life and being it in the living of your life .

This points to what I currently find an interesting (and arguably more urgent) topic: the role of time throughout discussions in forums such as this, and Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God (CwG) forums.

Too many teachers and seekers continue to talk as though they believe in time. As though "then" is not really "now". Communication should indicate that "Then" IS "now" - which is why I have coined the term "Then-Now".

Continued insistence upon past and future in any discussion of unifying the human experience seems a bit psychotic, but seems to me to be the norm. I consider time an important culprit in what I have heard Neale refer to as "separation theology" and it's evolving offshoots.

The "reality" of time is not the issue - it is the dualistic role we continue to assign to the concept of time. In other words, it's the words!! We say things like "more than half a century has passed", or a quarter century will have passed when some new thing "finally arrives". It seems only useful to allow time to retain this illusory role if we agree that "A fool that persists in their folly will become wise."

Of course. Yes. I can go to bed now.

It's past and future painted all over the communication of something that can only happen now, in the blink of an eye. This of course was alluded to in CwG book 1, which is happening now. ;^)

That's an overview of the topic I find most pressing and am addressing in my forums, including the forthcoming CD.

Walk the Talk: A Dictionary for the Now Exspirientuality

Welcome to the official launch of

Walk the Talk: A Dictionary for the Now Exspirientuality.

I've been mentioning some of the new terms I have coined and will continue to utilize in my discussions and philosophizing. These terms are the first deliberate, considered effort to create terminology that defers more directly to the unified nature of our apparently non-unified existence.

I continue to be amused - from a position of great humility and respect mind you - by the fact that so many of the current crop of gurus (for lack of a better term) continue to "call for a change without changing the call". They are using old school (rhymes with "old-dual", eh?), old spirituality language in an attempt to realize and honor what they are pointing to as a new spirituality. They're using the language of separation, the language of separation theology, to discuss unity and a theology / philosophy of unity.

First and foremost I have coined the term The Now Exspirientuality to represent what I call now-thought. Any true experience of "spirituality" in the physical world comes to us experientially. It's not really all that ethereal or mystical or spoo-oo-ooky... Knock you down fascinating, but baby, it's real. Sweat and tears and laughter and soaring joy are physical experiences. I would agree with those who say it is the "spirit" enjoying them, and I respect those who think I am nuts for saying that. Doesn't matter though.

So I combined the terms Experiential and Spirituality and came up with Exspirientuality.

Now of course is Newer than just plain old new - it's Eternally* New. It's Perpetually New. The New that Doesn't Get Old, that No One Has Been There and Done. It's THAT new.

It reflects the honest truth that time does not exist, except in our experience. We know that, and pretend it is important. Then we converse as though it does exist, and live our lives bound by past and hoping for future.

Our Future Needs You states the headline of an article in What Is Enlightenment magazine. I understand the call to action for a better planet and life situation, but...

Call me cynical - the first thought that hit me was "Of course you do. If we believe in future enlightenment, or a better world in the future, we'll keep buying your magazine. If you let us in on the truth about time, we won't. Then-Now is a better term than future or past. It reflects the fact that any reference to past or future is done in the NOW moment. That's profoundly important to understanding that enlightenment is all that's evident...

When our language better reflects the reality of paradox, we will more easily learn to communicate and live within the paradox of unity - separation.

The Now Exspirientuality. I welcome your thoughts and suggestions for new words as well. Next post will begin an alpha listing... I'll add suggested ones that I think fit the spirit of the endeavor - thanks for your input!!

Rule Number One: No Hand Wringing

I've decided I'll join the fray of thinkers, speakers, and hopefully inspirers as the new consciousness continues to grab hold of itself.

One exception though: I refuse to enter the hand-wringing arena. I won't agonize over how something like a new spirituality will fix anything, or whether it might tolerate this or that current aspect of society.

Sorry.

I can messiah a few things, butI'll pass on that one for now. Please do not try to obligate me to it.

Greg Allen's Games of the Now Exspirientuality

this'll be fun. I have been getting all these great insights for unity games played in duality.

In my world we always start by saying "Let's play...."

and then name the game.

Like this:

"Let's play: Tag, You're the Messiah"

or

"Let's play: Talk the Walk"

or "I Am: Blank" - that's another good one.

Then you play, until you get bored and want to forget about playing...

One of them is "Tag, You're the Messiah". It's an intercontinental game that will start small of course.

Only a Messiah can tag someone, and must say "Tag, You're the Messiah" when they do.

Once you're tagged you have to provide running commentary to whomever will listen about how everything you encounter will look when you "are the messiah", that is when your idea of an enlightened existence comes to fruition.

This continues of course until you realize that you ARE a Messiah, for only a Messiah can tag anyone else.

It's destined to spread things pretty quickly, because no one is going to listen to anybody that get tagged for very long, forcing them to reflection in solitude, at best. I mean, can you imagine a bunch of "I'm pretending to be the Messiah, look at the world though my eyes" kind of folks on every street corner, trying to bend your ear? Trying desperately to get you to see that they truly have the Messiah's vision...

No one will listen to "the tagged", and in their isolation and desperate longing to again simply commune with normal albeit flawed spirit/humans, they will realize they ARE the Messiah, and so is everyone else.

Then they'll hurry back to society and tag a bunch of people and squeal like a little child in the full force of play "Tag, You're the Messiah!" Then go back to whatever it was they were doing before.

I think they need some games over there, as do we all...

Tell Me 'bout 3

...or Why Atheists Might Be the Worst, or at least the Funniest.

My forthcoming CD is called It's Time That Time Was Overthrown, and one song in particular is primarily responsible for the title. Time O.T. is that song, and it was provoked by a couple of folks I know that fancy themselves atheists.

Atheists are among the funniest people I know. It's a stupid kind of funny whose appeal wears off quickly though. They're generally as boring, provocative and argumentative to be around as most theists I've encountered.

They like to diss things that they say do not exist. God is the big target.

So I wrote Time O.T. for them, asking them to tell me something about 3 - just plain, ordinary three. Have they seen it? Or 2?

Or time? Or the future? Or God?

Easy stuff, eh? As Einstein is said to have said "The hardest thing to understand about the universe is that it's understandable."

Then he explained it simply with relativity.

That seems like a lot of questions but basically it is one.

For crying out loud , why do people who profess to know what Spiritual people claim to know continue to ignore it and act as though Here and Now is There & Much Later?

It's Time That Time Was Overthrown

I'm really looking forward to the release of my new CD titled It's Time That Time Was Overthrown. Working with Jeff Romano as engineer and producer has been a wonderful, inspiring and educational experience. I've engaged Browning Porter to do the package design and layout, and he took some of the photos we'll use. I like his cover and back photo ideas - it's shaping up nicely.

Jeff will mix and master and I am asking Rodney Mills Master House in Duluth, GA to put the finishing touches on it. I went to visit them and explain the SongSharing and related REM and Dolly Parton connection to the CD, and ask for some TLC from them. They are nice folks - we are excited about working with them. Great trip to Athens, GA to visit studios. Played a few senior home SongSharing On Tour shows, and also an open mic. Met some great Athens musicians, one of whom joined me at a senior show the next morning. Great vibe in that town!

I'm working on my first book, which will accompany the CD, and am actively seeking a publisher / distributor for the combo. Some of the lyrics will accompany the CD, along with whatever babble I come up with - I promise to keep it intelligent & inspiring... ;^)

The book will be titled Is It "I Am" or Is It "I Ain't", a direct question to pretty much everyone except Eckhart Tollé, the R.E.M. folks, Billy Joel, and a not-too-large handful of others. It's mostly directed at everyone that professes to be concerned for a better future.

Many of the "new spiritualists" - sadly, because they have taught me so much - are at the front of the current pack. They are right there in the running with the theists, the atheists, the news media, the administration, and all the other "look-over-there-sayers". The so-called "new" spiritualists have page after page dedicated to the fervent, ever-swelling discussion of what I call "there, them and then". The question mostly goes like this: "What is an enlightened society (there) going to look like (then) and how will enlightened beings (them) interact there, then?"

I understand the question as far as questions between humans go. I am down with it's historical significance and even utility.

But my understanding of the basis of new spiritual thinking is more along the lines of now-thinking. Eckhrt Tollé nails it best of the modern new-thinkers.

At a deeper level I suggest is is about Unity - Unity within Duality to be specific...

Here's the deal - we need a language shift. Our language, even that used by "new thinkers", tends to reinforce the conventions of separation - primarily that there is other, separated by time and distance.

We know, and all spiritual messages seek to remind us, that we are all "one", all "of the same source" - Einstein demonstrated that time and distance are aspects of relative existence - necessary to establish a multitude of points of view. He also pointed out that all points of view are necessary to establish the existence of a universe as we know it, and all points of view are equally considerable as "central to it all".

So the other day I go to a "new spirituality" site & read an interesting question someone has proposed. They were of course asking for other points of view, and I read some very nicely considered and elaborated responses. I offered one of my own that seemed to strike a chord of understanding with some readers.

When I visited hours later I was a bit taken back to see that someone had summarized literally pages of these well considered responses into the black and white of "well it looks like most of the position A folks were not convinced to change over to position B..."

I commented that I respectfully thought they must not have understood my response if they felt I was a lifelong subscriber to either position. Well, I was and was not surprised when they responded to tell me that I was correct. They had not even read my post they proudly told me - almost a taunt it seemed. "Of course I did not understand you."

I chuckled and realized that websites are after all websites, and anyone with a computer... To paraphrase a car business line, somewhere there's a loose nut between the keyboard and the operator's seat...

It truly is time to overthrow time and all sorts of concepts that go with it, like later this will be better.

For cryin' out loud y'all... you know there is only now.

Now-Thinking calls for Now-Language - language that unifies "I" with"Other" and "Then" with "Now"

I already coined the word Then-Now in my new song Time O.T., due out on the new CD soon.

Anybody read the Conversations with God books by Neale Donald Walsch?? I think I am going to one of his seminars - he asks a lot of questions I might remind him of answers to... I have been meaning to meet him.
